Laser Hair Removal is safely performed in our private and relaxing laser room by one of our trained professionals. Most treatments are very fast. Our Sciton ClearScan has a cooling plate that makes the treatment very comfortable. We also have topical numbing medication available to increase your comfort in the more sensitive areas.

What to Expect

Laser Hair Removal works by targeting the pigment in the hair with light therapy. Because we naturally have three crops of hair in our bodies, it takes approximately six treatments to reduce hair in the targetted area. Treatments are spaced six weeks apart. It is common to see an improvement in the amount and thickness of the hair as soon as the first treatment, but it is essential to complete the six-treatment series to achieve full results.

Pre-Treatment Instructions:

- Apply sunscreen of an SPF 30 or higher on areas to be treated that are exposed to sunlight.
- Tell us if you have taken Accutane in the past six months or plan to begin taking Accutane.
- Shave the area to be treated within 12 hours prior to the appointment. If treating heavy beard,
shave the morning of your appointment.

Prior to Treatment, DO NOT:
- Have extended sun exposure to the area to be treated 4 weeks prior.
- Wax or tweeze the hair for four weeks prior to the treatment.
- Use self tanning lotions or tanning beds for four weeks prior.
- Use Retin - A or glycolics for 3 days prior.
- Use hair removal lotions or hair bleach for 4 weeks prior to the treatment.

Post-Treatment Requirements:

- Apply sunscreen of an SPF30 or higher on all treated areas that may be exposed to the sun.
- Shaving or clipping is the only acceptable methods of hair removal between treatments.
- Treatment area should be gently washed twice per day with tepid water and mild soap.

Post Treatment, DO NOT:
- Expose the treated area to the sun for prolonged periods for one week post treatment.
- Use Retin-A or glycolics for 6 days after the treatment.

Post-Treatment Expectations:

- Hair loss will be most evident ten days to two weeks after treatment. After your treatment you may
expect a mild sunburn sensation that typically lasts 2-3 hours and redness and swelling that may last
1 day. To treat these side effects, please follow these steps:
Apply cold compresses to reduce redness and swelling.
Apply a 1% hydrocortizone cream or ointment in a thin layer after cold compresses.
